Today is the first annual Global Handwashing Day, a new holiday
established by the United Nations to raise awareness about sanity and
public health. Washing our hands after using the bathroom is something
most of us probably take for granted, but the health disparity among
first-world, developing, and third-world countries is stark (and the
correlation between poor hygiene and some killer diseases is very real). As BBC puts it, “nearly half the world’s population do not have access to adequate sanitation.” That is why, today, 120 million children in 70 countries will simultaneously wash their hands with soap and water.
BTW, there is NOT Global Deodorant Day, because you should always wear it.
Because you stink...

| We are officially home with my HUGE family. Atticus Cash was born July 3 at 6:13am. Now we are all home trying to get settled in our new normal. Chloe came to visit us a couple times at the hospital. She has a really hard time saying Atticus, so until we settle on exactly what we will all call him, she says, "Baby Dosh." Kinda like cash I guess. She wanted to sing to him, check out this video: Happy Birthday Baby

| Life is crazy right now...
DTS (the biggest event of the year) is just 11 days away The birth of Baby Dragon is most likely 20 days away Summer Camp is 30 days away
This morning dad's car broke down so I had to go rescue him. Then on the way home my neighbor call a friend, who called my mom, who called me to tell me that The Moose was running through the neighborhood. He knows how to open gates and likes to get out whenever possible. So I quickly drove home to rescue him too. Only to get another call through the chain to hear that he had ben wrangled by the neighbor with the fresh shoulder replacement. When I got home I exchanged numbers with my neighbors, thanked her profusely and gave her a little pat on the shoulder. (not really)
All of this will be over soon.... | | |
